In the past two years since Urban Acres’ inception, these agents have focused on saying thank you by giving back to Iowa City and surrounding communities.
Some of Urban Acres’ events are geared toward sheer fun, such as the annual Urban AcresParade of Homes bike ride, with the goal of giving cycling enthusiasts a new way to visit more than 20 Parade of Homes sites. But others are designed to support non-profits in the area. For example, Urban Acres created a Draw together campaign featuring a life-size coloring book at the Greater Iowa City Area Home Builders Association Home Show to support local charities such as The Crisis Center, Systems Unlimited, and Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
The real estate company also has sponsored the Summer of the Arts Movie Series for two years running. For ten nights in June, July, and August at McBride Hall on the University of Iowa campus anyone can bring their lawn chair and blanket and enjoy FREE entertainment at sunset.
Urban Acres also gives back by recognizing those who make our communities such a greatplace to live and work. The company has nominated and provided recognition to outstanding teachers and veterans and has supported patients at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Whether Urban Acres agents are cleaning up streets and rivers, cheering on the Hawkeyes from atop their annual Homecoming Parade float, or walking alongside friends and family at the Iowa City Run for the Schools, the company is proud to continue its efforts to give back.
