EPIC Functional Medicine Center doesn’t just strive to resolve health problems, but also to educate. Dr. Jason Bradley, the founder of EPIC, holds events for the community to learn more about their health and how to improve it.
Partnering with Natural Grocers, EPIC kicked off the year with a “New Year: BEST You” event in January, exploring bio-hacking, genetic research, lowering stress, positive thinking, and more. Events like this have helped Dr. Bradley provide public education for over two decades.
EPIC’s events encourage and inspire Iowa City locals to take control of their health. This is also their practice with appointments. By shifting the traditional “disease-centered” focus of medical practice to a more “patient-centered” approach, EPIC uses functional medicine to address the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. By listening to the patient and learning his or her story, the practitioner brings the patient into the discovery process and tailors treatments that address the individual’s unique needs.
“Not only is the reality of functional medicine the best way to achieve the goal of health, but the inspiration and positive attitude of the entire EPIC Functional Medicine Center staff enhances the physical, mental, and emotional health of all who partake and participate,” says Nila H.
