Advanced Mechanical Warms Homes and Hearts
As a premier heating, cooling, and geothermal contractor for the Quad Cities, Advanced Mechanical is responsible for keeping hundreds of houses running at a comfortable temperature. But once a year, the company warms hearts as well as homes by donating one or two furnaces to families in need.
The Quad Cities can be a harsh place to live during the winter. Advanced Mechanical knows better than anyone that without a working furnace to keep them warm—and without the funds to buy or fix one—local families could near freeze during those cold winter months. That’s why the company gives away one or two furnaces every holiday season.
For a family that cannot afford a new furnace, having one installed free of charge by Advanced Mechanical is something of a Christmas miracle. After all, purchasing and installing a new furnace normally costs about $2,700. Even if an underprivileged family could secure a loan to cover that cost, they would have to wait several long days in a house with no heat before the loan could come through and the furnace could be installed.
Rex Ellis, owner of Advanced Mechanical, has seen this problem firsthand. In fact, because he is often the one who has to deliver the bad news of a broken furnace, he has developed a true compassion for families in need, and he tries to take care of their financial burden whenever he can. “I wish I could do it for everybody,”he says.
Over the last ten years, Advanced Mechanical has donated both furnaces and air conditioners to many grateful families throughout the Quad Cities. It certainly gives a whole new meaning to the term “housewarming gift”!
