As a Locals Love Us Graphic Designer, you will work together with sales agents and other graphic designers to:
- Design impactful print and online advertising for our clients: the local winning businesses
- Use proprietary CRM software to keep track of clients in the design process
- Communicate regularly with franchisees, sales agents and the clients whose ads you will be writing and designing
- Design 60-120 page print directories that highlight the most-loved places in a community
- Write feature copy for print and web explaining why locals love the winning businesses
Design is a crucial aspect of our brand in that it brings to life the trusted word-of-mouth recommendations that are at the heart of our program. As a Locals Love Us Graphic Designer, you’ll be working with an exclusive group of businesses selected by their community to help them gain new customers.
With several Locals Love Us markets across the country, you will never be lacking for design work, but it will get especially busy the closer we get to publishing a print guide. For a few weeks, as we finalize sales and advertising then layout and proof the guide, the days get long and it is occasionally all-hands on deck. During the rest of the year, we are flexible on hours to accommodate family schedules and other events. What matters to us is that the work gets done, not that a seat is being kept warm.

A strong candidate for this position will possess the following traits:
- 2-4 years of experience as a graphic designer, especially print and preferably work on large projects (like magazines, guides, directories and annual reports)
- Experience in photography is also desirable, but not mandatory
- Ability to communicate with a team to ensure that work advances through our design process
- Due to the large volume of advertisements in our directories, designers must be able to work quickly and manage multiple design projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
- We require all graphic design applicants to freelance with Locals Love Us prior to be considered for employment
