Giving Youth Dignity and Hope

For The Silent contends for exploited and trafficked teens in East Texas through prevention, intervention, and community training programs. They are committed to giving youth dignity and HOPE.

For The Silent educates at-risk youth about the dangers of pimps/traffickers, helping them recognize sexual exploitation and empowering them to watch out for their peers. They provide prevention education and long term mentorship to middle school students and youth within the juvenile justice system becoming their advocates and lowering their susceptibility to trafficking.

The organization also identifies and rescues victims of sexual exploitation through street outreach, online surveillance, and strong working partnerships with local and federal law enforcement. Their advocacy for victims and investigative work led to the first ever prosecution of a human trafficker in Smith County.

The Tyler bred trafficker exploited over 40 young women and was sent to federal prison for 23 years without parole. The Assistant U.S. Attorney’s quoted one of For The Silent’s value statements in his closing arguments saying of victims of sex trafficking that “their worth is immeasurable”.
