For many who grow up in East Texas, church, the Bible, and Christianity are presented as givens. When they go to college, they are presented with new information that raises important questions about life, faith, and God. The Epiphany College Community, a ministry of Christ Church, Episcopal, seeks to build a community, where students can explore these questions honestly in light of questions that are hard to reconcile with what they have been brought up with.
We explore topics and questions through film, while enjoying a meal provided by a Christ Church, Episcopal member or someone else in the community. Our weekly ‘Dinner & Film Discussions,’ happen at 6 PM on Thursdays during Fall and Spring semesters.
For the past year, Callynth Photography has opened its studio’s doors to provide our group with a location that fits well with the number of students who come, and provides a very welcoming atmosphere and aesthetic. They also assist in setting up and cleaning up after our gatherings. We are very grateful for Callynth Photography’s investment in, and generosity towards helping students work through matters of faith, and how that informs their places and roles in the world.
