FRESH by Brookshire’s is known throughout Tyler for having amazing food – but did you also know they are on a mission to get people active and give back at the same time?
2016 marks the third year for the annual FRESH 15 – a 15k, 5k and kids’ 1k race scheduled the first Saturday in March. The race draws in thousands of runners from Tyler and beyond, and donates every single dollar back to the community.
Race organizers work on the event year-round luring participants with the amazing race swag and vendor-filled post-race party. They offer free training plans, a running clinic and other perks to get people active and motivated to run. All distance runners, including the kids, receive a finisher’s medal.
The best thing about the race is that 100 percent of runner revenue is donated back to the community, benefiting two charities – Bethesda Health Clinic and Team Red, White and Blue (Team RWB). Bethesda is a local health clinic that offers high-quality medical care to the working uninsured in Tyler. Team RWB is a national charity and military organization that connects veterans through physical and social activity.
In 2015, FRESH 15 raised $140,000 for charity! To learn more about the race visit www.FRESH15k.com.
