River City Tire: A Family Business that Supports Families
River City Tire is a family business through and through. Founded by Charles Jones in 1987 with the mission to provide excellent auto repair services and tire sales to the Quad City community, River City Tire is now run by both Jones’son Chester and his daughter Jackie.
Throughout the years, owners Chester Jones and Jackie Staron have upheld their father’s commitment to the community. Under their direction, River City Tire currently offers financial support to local agencies such as CASI, Family Enrichment, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Rotary Club of Davenport, Women's Connection, and more. One of River City Tire’s favorite organizations to get involved with is Family Resources, which provides a safe place for people who have experienced domestic violence.
Recently, Staron has taken on a new mission: volunteering with the Blossoms and Brunch event put on by Friends of Trinity Medical Center. This annual garden party has the triple purpose of benefiting a prayer shawl ministry, a caring closets ministry, and a pet therapy ministry. These three ministries service those in need both physically and mentally.
Staron and Jones also like to incorporate their work into their community involvement. Realizing that the automotive industry has a language of its own, they have begun holding Knowledge Is Power seminars for women. These seminars are free to women and provide hands-on knowledge of the car trade in a real shop setting.
Supporting the community that supports us—that’s the philosophy that the Jones family has always incorporated into their daily business at River City Tire.
