Quad City Animal Welfare Center has been saving lives one animal at a
time since 1977.

The mission of the QCAWC is to operate a shelter for homeless animals,
to offer a spay and neuter program, and provide humane education. We are
the only full-service, no-kill shelter serving the Quad-Cities area.

Adoptions
We always have great cats and dogs available for adoption! Sometimes we
have kittens, puppies, and small animals as well. The adoption fee for
dogs is $100, with each dog spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations,
microchipped, and tested for heartworm disease. The cat adoption fee is
$40, with cats spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations,
microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV.

Low Cost Spay/Neuter
We offer low cost, high quality spay/neuter surgeries for cats and dogs
to clients four days a week by appointment. We do pediatric spay/neuter,
so we can alter kittens and puppies ages 2 months and older. Please give
us a call at (309) 787-6830 ext. 26 or 27 to schedule an appointment.

Walk-in Wellness Clinic
If you want a low cost but quality option for vaccinations, heartworm testing, nail trims, and parasite prevention products, please visit us for a Walk-in Wellness Clinic at the Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic, 612 W. 1st Street, Milan, IL! You do not need an appointment, and hours are Wednesdays with sign in between 1 and 3:30 p.m., and the first Saturday of every month with sign between 10 a.m. and noon. We are unable to see sick or injured animals, but can share information about full service veterinarians with you.

Humane Education
We partner with schools throughout the Quad Cities area to provide
quality educational programs to teach young people how to be pet
caretakers, how pets improve our lives, and the impact they can have on
the lives of animals. We visit schools and host a variety of groups in
our shelter’s Education Center. Birthday parties at the shelter are
popular where kids ask for gifts for the shelter animals instead of
themselves.
