QCGA is located in a picturesque country setting just five miles south of the Quad Cities, right on US Route 67. Established in 1999, QCGA has been the industry leader in providing gymnastics and tumbling instruction to students of the Quad City Area. QCGA has served an average of nearly four hundred students' families yearly. Originally opened as the powerhouse girls' competitive gymnastics program in the QC, QCGA has continued to produce the largest and most successful USAG Junior Olympic competitive gymnastics team in the area.
QCGA's staff experience is unrivaled in the Quad Cities. We have seventy-five years of combined experience among the coaching staff. QCGA classes are unique in the industry. They are kept small, with a 6:1 student-instructor ratio. Classes include a full fifty-five minutes of activity, with a minimum of downtime spent standing in lines or waiting for turns. QCGA operates a modern, air-conditioned facility with a continuous attention to safety and cleanliness.
Our competitive girls' gymnastics level 4- 10 teams continue to dominate the local area and consistently hold their own when competing at the state level. Since our inception, QCGA has produced at least one top ten team placement every year at the state level as well as producing nearly thirty individual state champions. More than twenty QCGA athletes have continued their sport at the collegiate level with many QCGA athletes receiving college scholarships.
Original and current QCGA owner, David Van Acker is a life-long native of the Quad Cities. He previously served for fifteen years as the head coach and girls' program director at the former Moline Gymnastics Academy under the guidance and mentorship of former international gymnastics judge, Sharon Pirkl. After receiving his BS in elementary education from St. Ambrose University and acquiring his Illinois certified teacher status, David integrated educational and child psychology principles combined with his personal experience as a former competitive gymnast and coach to create the most motivational, educational, safe, and fun gymnastics program in the Quad Cities.
