We are a local favorite since 1950 and the region’s largest and best hobby store. Located in Downtown Rapid City, this unique store offers a great selection of fun new hobbies likes planes, trains, model kits and more!

Who’s Hobby House has been a downtown Rapid City staple since moving to its current location in 1993. Now in its third generation of family ownership, Clancy Kingsbury proudly continues the legacy started decades ago.

The store was founded in 1950 by William H. Osterburg—whose initials inspired the name “Who’s.” In 1957, Clancy’s grandparents purchased the business, beginning the Kingsbury family tradition. His father took over in 1978, and Clancy assumed ownership in 1991.

One of the store’s most recognizable features is its iconic neon sign, created in 1951 and now listed on the National Registry of Historic Signs.

Who’s Hobby House proudly supports local innovation and community growth through a variety of sponsorships and donations.

Who's sponsors the South Dakota School of Mines Aero Design Team—a group of students who design and fly small-scale, radio-controlled aircraft within strict weight limits. The team has earned numerous national and international awards for their work.

Who’s Hobby House also sponsors the university’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Team, which designs autonomous, computer-controlled aircraft. This team is at the forefront of aerial robotics, striving to develop cutting-edge technologies for future commercial and military UAV applications.

Beyond education, Who’s Hobby House gives back to the Rapid City community by donating to local organizations such as the Optimists Club, WellSpring, and Youth & Family Services.
