Dolands Jewelers: Custom Beads and Cocktail Parties for a Cause
Doland Jewelers knows that giving back to the community doesn’t have to mean giving back financially. Every month, the jeweler finds a fun new way to support the Quad Cities community through its successful Charity of the Month program.
One of the organizations Dolands loves to help most is HAVlife, a local nonprofit whose goal is to “Prevent Lost Potential”in the areas of youth music education and sports programs. Over the past seven years, HAVlife has raised and granted over $500,000 in scholarships to help students cover the mounting costs of music and sports programs.
Dolands understands how music and athletics are universal means of keeping kids off the streets and on the right path. As a family-owned company, Dolands recognizes that Quad Cities youth and their future should be everybody’s business, not just their own.
While Dolands does give to HAVlife financially, the jeweler also gives in other ways. In addition to hosting special in-store events to benefit the cause, Dolands created a custom HAVlife bead for PANDORA jewelry to help raise awareness and support. This April, Dolands even held a cocktail party in honor of HAVlife called the Tri-States Martini Shake Off. Featuring martini samples from local restaurants and a fabulous silent auction, this event raised hundreds of dollars for HAVlife.
For Doland Jewelers, giving back—whether it’s to HAVlife or one of the many other nonprofits it supports—is less a matter of finances and more a matter of fun. Dolands is a store that loves making dreams come true, both for customers and for the community at large.
