A gym that depends on donations rather than membership fees doesn’t sound like a sustainable business model. But that was the vision that Billy Weatherall believed that God gave him in 2011. At the time, Weatherall was drawing a high salary in the oil and gas industry. By following that vision, he left the oil and gas industry and founded Christ Fit Gym the next year.

“I had always loved working out and telling others about Jesus,” said Weatherall, “but I never thought that a donations only gym would survive and neither did anyone else I had asked.” But in Isaiah 55:8, Weatherall read ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my way declares the Lord.’

“I threw in the towel of obedience in 2012 and I've never looked back. The Lord has been so faithful to me, my family and Christ Fit Gym.  Since opening we've had over 3,500 walk through the doors and they have all heard about Jesus. We've expanded three times and still need more space.  Psalm 37:4 says ‘delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart!’

Christ Fit Gym is now a 501 (C) (3) Non-Profit Christian Gym located in Bossier City that costs nothing to participants. Christ Fit Gym holds daily Bible Devotions, prayer groups, daily scripture readings and runs an after school program for teenage boys.

Their motto is the Bible verse, I Timothy 4:8, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
