Dogtopia held its 11th Annual K-9 Support Charity Dog Wash on June 7^th. Our local Dogtopia Waco and volunteers washed and dried dogs all day along with over 30 other Dogtopia stores across the nation. Our community brought their dogs out for a summer bath for a suggested donation of $15.  This year’s event again benefited Paws With A Cause.  Since 1979, Paws With A Cause has been enhancing the independence and quality of life for veterans and other people with disabilities on a national level through custom-trained and placed Assistance Dogs.

The K-9 Support Charity Dog Wash focuses on assisting the PAWS veteran assistance program.  It’s more important than ever to give back to local working dogs in our communities, since funding continues to be cut. Public support and awareness is vital to helping Paws With A Cause continue to train and place dogs to assist veterans across the full spectrum of needs including Assistance Dogs, Hearing Dogs, Service Dogs and Seizure Response Dogs.  PAWS increases awareness of the rights and roles of Assistance Dog Teams through education and advocacy and has placed 2,500 dogs since its inception.
