Each year 1 out of 500 school-age children sustain a head injury severe enough to leave them hospitalized. Even more startling is that 1 in 20 people with a traumatic brain injury won’t receive the treatment they need. In an effort to help those individuals, Select Physical Therapy partnered with Hope4Minds to help raise awareness for head injuries in the Central Texas community.
During a two week campaign, our team partnered with survivors of traumatic brain injuries (TBI), parents of children who have an acquired brain injury and philanthropists to raise funds and awareness for TBI and the importance of therapy after an injury. The culmination of the campaign was Hope4Minds’ annual AmplifyAustin, I Live Here, I Give Here event where our team members held a question and answer session with concussion and head trauma survivors and provided information about our concussion management program.
Select Physical Therapy and Hope4Minds take great pride in making an impact in the lives of individuals in the local community. Recently, Hope4Minds helped a local Waco family by donating funds to purchase equipment for a child that has an acquired brain injury. The child has been able to recondition and recover with the help and dedication from this renowned nonprofit organization.
We were proud to collaborate with Hope4Minds and look forward to strengthening our relationship with many more businesses in our community in the near future!
