Your Donations Create Jobs
When you graciously choose to donate your gently used clothing and household items to your local Heart of Texas Goodwill or shop in a Goodwill retail store, you are making an impact right here in Waco and surrounding communities. Donations are resold in our retail stores which fund our 4 Job Connection Centers in Waco, Temple, Killeen and Belton. Any items that can’t be sold in a Goodwill retail or outlet store are recycled, reducing the amount of waste put into landfills. This includes computer and electronic waste. Heart of Texas Goodwill proudly partners with Dell through the Dell Reconnect Initiative, a program which allows for a free way to responsibly recycle computers and related electronics.
The local community, including veterans have access to the services provided in the Job Connection Centers at no cost. Participants are able to receive job training through various programs and employment placement services. Trained staff are available at each facility to assist people with finding employment, upgrade their skills and prepare for success in the workplace. We also specialize in other community-based programs for people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience or face employment challenges.
At Heart of Texas Goodwill, we are also dedicated to connecting local employers with talented job seekers. We assist these companies with their needs by providing free job fairs, pre-screening applicants and more, all while continuing our mission of putting people to work.
