The Jim Olivier Family of Companies, Roofing Louisiana and Jim Olivier’s Home Improvement, are looking for a few good men and women - to help them support Operation Shoebox.  Operation Shoebox donates necessities and small “luxuries” to our soldiers currently serving far from home.

The Jim Olivier Family of Companies’ coordination brought in over 700 pounds of items for US servicemen and women including candy, dried foods, powdered drinks, toiletries, games, movies, music and other items to help ease their time away from home.  Donations came from all over Acadiana, including a class from a local school that donated 45 boxes of supplies.

Knowing how classrooms are usually in need themselves, the Jim Olivier Family of Companies also lends its help to Tools for Schools.  They partnered with KATC to effect real change in the support available to local teachers.  Instead of having to supply all the classroom needs out of their own pockets, teachers are able to submit a wish list to Tools for Schools.  Supporters like the Jim Olivier Family of Companies and others fulfill requests.  Anna Olivier says,  “We have helped with supplies from pencils to iPads to US flags.  We want to fill the gap for parents and teachers and help to meet kids’ needs.”

Roofing Louisiana and Jim Olivier Home Improvement do a great job of covering needs and improving situations for soldiers and teachers.  With the help of the community, they plan to continue their involvement in the future.  The collection dates will be announced through the media but are usually in July and August for Tools for Schools and in November for Operation Shoebox.  Let’s help our heroes!
